Fantastic experience: Great service for my pets. I recommend it

Negative experience: Extremely Disappointing and Heartbreaking Experience If you truly love your pets and see them as family, please think twice before coming to this clinic. I brought my baby girl Thea here after she was diagnosed with parvo. She was literally fighting for her life, and instead of compassion or urgency, all they talked about was money. They assigned a doctor whose accent was extremely hard to understand (and I consider myself good in English), which made an already stressful situation even worse. I paid close to 4,000 AED for just two nights, and during that time my cat only got worse. I have 16 cats, so when I say this clinic is bad, I say it with experience. I was at work, three hours away, absolutely devastated and begging for a simple video of my dying baby -while they kept discussing payments instead of showing basic humanity. When you work in veterinary care, you should be closer to angels, not accountants. Taking Thea out of this clinic was the best decision of my life. I moved her to The Australian Vet, and in just ONE day she has shown incredible improvement. She is finally getting better. The only decent human being in that entire place was Senior Nurse Leo, who called me personally, apologized for how I was treated, and sent me a video of my girl. He is the only reason I’m not giving this place zero credit. If you value your pet’s life, warmth, and real medical care, please go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: GVC are very professional for pet relocation, fast, experienced, they provide very detailed explanation of the relocation process. Many thanks to Joanna Cole the manager, for assisting us to relocate our pet cat to Greece. She has high professional standards. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: My wife has taken our dog here for years. We recently switched clinic because the service has gone done and prices are high. Unfortunately, it’s sad to see it deteriorate. The owner who we used to rate, is no longer involved. The staff tell us she is focused on other things and no longer invests time in the clinic, which is very clear from how things have shifted. Used to be a top clinic. Now just an expensive clinic which is coasting on legacy.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we dropped our kittens off for boarding for the first time I knew they’d be in safe hands. The veterinary care my kitties are receiving is beyond thorough. The vets, nurses and rest of the team are incredibly kind, compassionate and clearly love what they do. I feel like every patient/case truly gets the treatment and care they deserve with this practice.

Fantastic experience: Yes its really really expensive but worth the money, they were honest and helpful we kept our pet in another vet for two weeks then we brought him to german same day unfortunately he passed away. But the approach they took and how gentle they were and emphasizes that the drs and nurse were with the situation it was amazing, deep in my heart i know if he was there two weeks ago his chances would be more but im at least glad his last moment was with a warm blanket and he had dr. Fatima she is amazing she knows how to deal with the cat and shes very knowledgeable, shes kind and all the nurses and the receptionist were veryyy kind the staff are amazing there.

Negative experience: I’ve been visiting German Veterinary Clinic for years and had generally positive experiences—until my recent visit with Dr. Sergio, which was very disappointing. To begin with, he arrived late for the appointment without offering any apology or explanation, which already set a negative tone. The consultation felt rushed and impersonal. What was most frustrating, however, was the lack of proper aftercare and attention. Dr. Sergio concluded the session abruptly and left the room before I had the chance to ask some important follow-up questions regarding my pet’s condition and care plan. As a concerned pet owner, I expect a basic level of professionalism, empathy, and CLEAR communication—especially when it comes to my pet’s health. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of those expectations. I hope the clinic addresses these concerns, as consistency and quality of care are essential in building trust with clients.

Fantastic experience: The German Vet has been such a wonderful discovery since moving to the UAE. The moment you walk in, it doesn’t feel like a traditional vet clinic — it feels more like a welcoming home. The waiting area is spacious and private, thoughtfully set up with treats, enrichment games, and cozy seating to help both pets and owners feel at ease. Dr. Sergio was absolutely fantastic with my dog, Zen. He was gentle, kind, and incredibly respectful in his handling, taking the time to listen and engage in a real dialogue. I especially appreciated his openness to a more integrative approach, combining the best of Western veterinary care with my preference in holistic and natural practices. Zen has been struggling with allergies since our relocation, and with Dr. Sergio’s guidance and care, we saw a noticeable improvement within just a few days. The entire team is professional, supportive, and clearly passionate about animal wellbeing. They also have a curated selection of toys for purchase — we picked up a few since our container hasn’t arrived yet, and they’ve been impressively high quality and very durable. Highly recommend The German Vet to anyone looking for a clinic that blends expert care with warmth, comfort, and a truly pet-centered approach. Zen and I are both grateful!

Negative experience: Eager to take your money. 5500aed and didn't heal our cats broken foot, litterally charged us for all tests and medication and no result what's so ever. Had to go do it all again at another vets to actually get a cast and correct treatment.

Negative experience: They try to sell as much additional investigations/ blood test (750AeD!) as possible. When examining our dog not even detecting that she had again severe ear infection which can only be treated with medication we huch they refused to give without blood test…

Fantastic experience: There is no better vet in Abu Dhabi, every single member of their team is extraordinary and the nurses are kind and caring. Cannot recommend enough, and we have tried a lot of vets in the city

Fantastic experience: They are so professional and gentle with my highly anxious cat. They have been very accomodating and allow me to take him directly into the vet's office instead of waiting in the waiting room. Dr. Karen advised different options to help my cat with his chronic pain. Even with my limited budget, I trust them to take the best care of him and they are the only cattery I use. They are well worth it.

Fantastic experience: I have been very happy with the treatment my dog and I have received at GVC. My dog has not long arrived from the U.K. and needed a check. He’s an extremely anxious, large dog, so treatment needs to be done sympathetically. The vets were amazing from initial consultation in their special room for anxious animals, to our home visit for the procedure. They listened to me about our past experiences and what I felt was best for my boy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this surgery, particularly if you have a quirky animal!!

Fantastic experience: Huge thanks to German Veterinary Clinic for the amazing care they gave my cat, Niles! Dr. Adrienn was incredible - so knowledgeable and compassionate. They explained everything clearly and were really supportive. A huge shout-out to Apple too, who helped with getting Niles to the clinic and back home again. Fantastic experience: Honestly best place ever wala wala I can’t express how grateful I am for this clinic my pets are treated like royalty there they actually care and pay attention to details in their tests unlike Australian and British vet were absolute garbage but this place it’s the opposite yes it is quite pricy compared to other vets but for me my pets come first idc ill pay more as long as they’re ok and feel comfortable they give them treats too

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this clinic since 2019 , and they never disappoint me even when we lost one of my pets passing away and taking her ashes with me back to the states they made easy for me to get the required certificates which is something I really appreciate Since we travel a lot being in contact with them in case of an emergency for my pets while I’m out of UAE being amazing gave me peace of mind, just 2 days ago my cat had asthma attack and they took car of her and kept sending updates on WhatsApp even though my sister was with my cat . The doctor sent me the information and updates on her I’m far away but glad to be able to communicate with them . Thank you GVC I really appreciate everything you’ve done and thank you for giving me the peace of mind and trust when I’m far away that my babies will be taken care of

Fantastic experience: We have Cody, a Dubai rescue, 2 years of age, reactive through fear. A nervous soul, but the genuine love of my life. We reached out whilst I was expecting our first baby as we were nervous as to how he would settle with our new addition to the household. I was honestly more worried about Cody than I was about my upcoming delivery. Previous “training” was done with Cody. Never before has anyone looked at him and his case in an empathetic manner, corrections applied by the “trainer” we used previous left him more fearful, an absolute waste of time. The team at the clinic are literally the only people properly qualified in animal behavior we have found. They have dedicated years to study on these cases and you can tell. After thorough discussion the best fit for Cody at this stage was medication to help with his anxiety and allow him to feel more confident and safe thus giving us a much happier and more content dog in himself. Also household changes and management to give him the safest environment possible which we continue to use. It has been five weeks since these changes and our baby is now one month old. The changes in his reactivity and the confidence he has shown in himself has been magical and I am forever grateful to the team who treated Cody as one of their own. You can tell how much they care and how much dogs mean to them. He’s taking on his new role and big brother so well. Cody and our family are so glad we found you guys! Fantastic experience: We switched to GVC recently for veterinary care and boarding for our two cats and are extremely pleased with our choice. The cats had fallen behind with their vaccinations and so had to restart before boarding and GVC were able to accommodate them in an isolation suite for one week boarding. During boarding, pictures and videos were sent by WhatsApp. The cats were clearly happy during their stay and much happier coming home than from other boarding places we’d used before. Veterinary care was also top notch. Really like the calm ambience at the clinic and their commitment to gentle handling of pets. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Don’t recommend at all, you’re better of taking your pet to other vets that aren’t commercial. Doctor asked to do a test on the phone that was expensive and when I told him I need 5 mins to discuss with my parents he told me I couldn’t and needed to give an answer now. I am very grateful that I didn’t proceed with anything with them other than tests which was a waste of money. Like everyone else they just want to run as many tests as possible to get money out of you unfortunately. Doctors seemed very cold and apathetic.

Negative experience: Heartless vet staff. They refused to take in a sick stray cat even though ready to pay for it . It's like a 5 star hotel, they choose the rich ones and kick out the poor. Shame on you!

Positive experience: I liked that I was able to get an appointment in this place right around Eid time in Ramadan when other places were not available. But I didn’t like the recommendation of many tests for my cat by the vet to rule out all thinkable possibility as to why my cat’s nose seem off color , including COVID test seriously ? I mean, we don’t do that to humans anymore - cost of 1,500+ DHS only to get everything clear in the test results - nothing wrong الحمدلله - and my cat’s nose came back to normal color without any medication. I guess they weren’t able to diagnose what was happening to my cat. Pointless appointment honestly. Just a waste of money.

Fantastic experience: The best vet in Abu Dhabi that I have experienced. I have been at 3 others before this and it's miles away from each other. From the first contact, to the actual care, to the after-care it has all been top-notch. The cost is a bit higher than others too but that makes a lot of sense with how they approach care for owners and pets. Other vets should come and learn so more owners can have great experiences. It's the Lamborghini of Vets in Abu Dhabi.

Negative experience: They told ua our bunnies are healthy and the next morning one of our bunnies stopped walking then died in the afternoon

Negative experience: One of the worst clinics I have ever dealt with. After I payed 11k on my cat the doctor "advised" that I should take him to another clinic. After I took assurance from the clinic that this is the best move for his health, the cat died within 10 minutes of his discharge! When I called the doctor, she said her "advise" was to save me 1.7k dhs and because I asked her multiple times what the limit of the bill will be- the doctor didn't provide any future plan, or even a rough estimate of how much everything will be.

Positive experience: Wonderful staff who really looked after our poorly dog after he fractured a bone in his paw. Really lovely consulting rooms where you’re on the floor with your pet.

Negative experience: I'm very disturbed about GVC policy of obliged euthanasia of cats brought in for TNR that have tested positive for immunodeficiency (FIV) using a snap rapid test. While most vets I know have moved forward and left this thinking in the past, others at least refrained from taking such an authority over the lives of local cats. In the world, overcrowded shelters are known to use FIV as excuse to reduce the numbers, but as far as I know GVC is a private clinic, not a government entity or shelter. Moreover, licensed government animal welfare organizations are raising awareness about "mercy killing" and its prohibitions in Islam, lets respect their stance. I'm looking forward for the policy change so that I can edit my review and recommend GVC. Thank you.

Negative experience: Please note that if you are taking a cat to this clinic for TNR, you need to read the small print! If they suspect that a cat is FIV + they will test and euthanise the cat. This is a very outdated concept. Many cats out here are FIV+ and snap tests are very unreliable. Cats with FIV can live a full life if neutered and in well managed colonies. If rescued and re-homed they can even live alongside negative cats. FIV is normally passed through deep bite wounds with unneutered male cats fighting for territory and/or fighting to mate. We are not here to control the spread of FIV, but rather to help control the population through TNR.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. They offer deliveries for their products. The doctors are well equipped and understanding

Negative experience: Well, our experience was not that great as other pet owners. In my view the service in our case was overpriced for a mis-diagnosed treatment that went for a couple of years. Finally we went to a different vet for a second opinion(local Emirati) and he provided a spot on diagnosis within the first 15 minutes without a need to send samples for an expensive lab tests and expensive medications. The medication he (new vet) gave us was also much cheaper that I could get at the local pharmacy. Basically our pet had ear mites and suffered from fungus on her skin. In both cases European trained vets never diagnosed with that (even though they looked at the ears during every visit) and instead were taking samples to send it to the lab (which was not cheap either). Actually at one point our pet got quite sick due to an allergic reaction to anti-biotics. All the symptoms were gone after 3-4 weeks using new treatment compared to 2 years of suffering under previous "treatment". The other vet has a non-nonsense and practical approach to treat pets. If your pet has a "chronic" condition I would recommend to take it elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Its true German vet is expensive but the money spent on this vet is 100% worth it. All staff, nurses and drs prioritize pets physical and mental health. Special thanks to Dr. Sergio & Dr. Ivana who been taking care of my cat, during consultation they make sure to explain everything and give choices on the treatment plan. All nurses been so nice and gentle while handling pets. Thank you German vet for taking care of Cooper knowing how anxious and stressed he gets when leaving the house, the vet was so considerate by providing a cozy safe room/cage for my cat.

Positive experience: Amazing clinic. Very kind and knowledgeable doctor. Solved our rabbits health issue in a day. Though it was quite expensive and I wasn't told about the cost I'm going to face during examination.....surprise/shock came when I got the bill.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience here. We took our little Pomeranian here for a routine vaccine shot and also for an emergency when she wasn’t feeling well one day. Both doctors we saw were very nice and caring, and we felt our fur baby was in good hands. Would definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Ahh where to begin. The short version: wonderful customer service, great reception, the kindest nurses and most incredible doctors. The long version: the receptionists always make you feel like you’re part of the family the moment you walk inside. They remember names, they’re always warm and smiley, and even make you laugh while your credit card cries. The nurses are … well superheroes. I’m not sure if each individual nurse has specialized training of different kinds of animals … but how they made my pets comfortable was mesmerizing to watch. For instance, I have a cat who’s generally antisocial and quite skittish. This sweetheart of a nurse/angel (I wish I asked for her name) came in and not only made my cat comfortable, but by the end of the session, my cat was practically in love with her. She was like a modern day Snow White in scrubs. It was beautiful to watch. As for the doctors, I’ve personally had experience only with Dr. Vito. He has been the primary doctor for all my pets (cats and dogs), and to say this man is a miracle worker would be an understatement. I have a dog who suffers from bad arthritis, survived cancer and is overweight. He barely eats, yet nothing had been able to make him lose even 0.01g of weight for the past 8 years. The weight coupled with the arthritis made him very quiet and depressed over the years. We had gone to a total of 7 different doctors (both general and specialists) and we got no results. He lost 1kg once but that was because he got sick and was vomiting a lot. Gained it right back when he recovered. Enter Dr. Vito: empathetic, kind, funny … takes his time with his patients and their parents … and TRANSFORMS Simba’s (my dog) life. He’s the kind of doctor that thinks outside of the box, and know for a fact that you will not leave his office with at least 3 different potential solutions to your beloved pet’s problem. Within a couple of months, Dr. Vito helped Simba out of obesity and into a healthy weight range. He found an arthritis medication that will help relieve his pain and prescribed food that my dog actually enjoys eating. From a sad, depressed, sit-in-the-dark kinda dog, Simba is now constantly belly-up asking for tummy rubs, he LEAPS around the house like a stallion, and most shockingly, jumps up and down from the couch BY HIMSELF. This is a 13 year old dog who hasn’t been able to lift his leg to pee for 8 years due to pain and discomfort… now he’s like an Arabian stallion and keeps getting better. I dont know what more I can say …. Never have thousands of dirhams been so worth it and well-spent. This will be my pets’ default hospital (hopefully with their incredible default doctor) until the very end. So grateful to you, GVC.

And when they went for their free medical check up, I was absolutely relieved to see how welcoming they were and how they helped Casper get over his fear of clinics! Watson, Cooper and Casper are enjoying their new home in Abu Dhabi and this couldn’t have been possible without the amazing care of the German Vet Clinic team.

Fantastic experience: Pet relocator Joanna was faultless with her service. We relocated 2 English bull dogs (who had to fly before us due to them being snub nosed dogs) a Japanese Spitz, African Grey parrot and a tortoise. Despite many set backs Joanna sorted every detail out and with her lovely calm personality and great sense of humour all our our family are here in the UK reunited. We seriously could not have done this without her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our old husky Lola today. The staff from the receptionist, nurses to the Dr were absolutely amazing and the atmosphere they created was perfect to say goodbye to our girl. Thank you for making a difficult day as good as it could be.

Negative experience: Not recommended, the clinic was good in the past 3 years, yet recently the assigned team is quite unhelpful and rude. If your pet is having an urgent case, don't expect them to revert to you unless you show up in person and pay!!!

Fantastic experience: Clean, professional, and knowledgeable. I went there for the first time when I booked with them for export of my pet. When I walked in, I wished I had gone there sooner. Clean, professional, knowledgeable, caring, and with modern facilities and equipment.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this veterinary clinic as all of the staffs are treating their patients in an excellent way. I've been to other vet clinics and this place was just by far amazing. Just simply looking at your pet treated like humans is beyond my expectations. From the receptionist to the doctors, they were all very helpful and kind. Most specially to Dr. Laura and Dr. Dana for taking good care of my cat Lucy. Keep up the good work. <3

Negative experience: by far this has been the worst vet i’ve experienced. They’re overpriced and never tell you what really is wrong with your cat, unless you are willing to pay. i’ve got my cat spayed and the vet left over 70% of her ovaries just so that i go and do a bigger surgery for her for double the price. The doctor instantly added to the system for a full 1000dhs blood test without even discussing it with us or even examining her at all which is absolutely ridiculous. When i asked the doctor for his advice after telling him that i didn’t want to pay 1000% (without the consultation price which is 300) he just claimed that it’s a behavioural issue. I went to other vets and realised that the german vet have been doing everything wrong and have been keeping my cat in pain just to get money. I called the vet to book and appointment and as i was talking to the nurse, she didn’t even let me continue taking and instead she said “listen to me” before i even finish my sentence. By far the most untrustworthy and worst vet i’ve ran into.

Positive experience: Sure, you can’t say that they are professional veterinarians - but honestly after nearly 2 months of threatening our cat with an high involved financial impact to ask 285 AED to get a doctor via phone to clarify some or one open question I can only say - the rip you financially !! So we decided to change the healthcare facility for our two cats

Positive experience: I took my 8 years old pug for a check up. The whole experience from booking to the visit was nice and very professional. It’s a “fear free” clinic, so even the consultation room was cozy and my dog didn’t feel anxious at all. I am only giving 4* because it is overpriced.

Negative experience: This company drains people of money using the disguise of “helping” pets. I wouldn’t call them a vet. Unnecessary treatments and anything deemed necessary cost so much more than other vets in the same area. I’ve moved to a competitor in the same area and their standard of care is SO much higher and in depth, for much less cost. My dog trainers flagged up treatment and I thankfully made the switch.

Fantastic experience: Excellent! It was my first cat's visit to a vet, i was concerned that he may be stressed or afraid. The fluffy boy came back home relaxed and clean. Everybody was kind and extremly professional, but most importantly u can see that they all love and care about animals.

Fantastic experience: The German vet clinic is a highly competent, professional and friendly establishment to take your beloved pets to. We recently had a medical emergency with Chloe, our 8-month-old tiny teacup Pomeranian. She was diagnosed and treatment started within hours of her arrival. She stayed in the hospital for four days and has made a remarkable recovery. She underwent some procedures which required sedation and all went well as planned, thanks to the passionate and experienced medical team based there. It was a significant relief for Chloe to come home and she continues to do exceptionally well. Thank you once again to the team at GVC from the kind admin staff to the expert medical team. I highly recommend this establishment that will give you a piece of mind that your beloved pet is in safe hands. Keep up the excellent work.
