Negative experience: This should be minus 5 star rating. Horacio Ruiz should not be a veterinarian. He does not care about his patients and is only concerned about his next appointment and overcharging charging people for unnecessary treatment. When I asked him to provide a detailed explanation why he wanted to do the extra treatment, I was told he does not have time to explain now and he also cannot treat our dog. If the doctors at your clinic is only concerned about their next appointment and to make as much money as possibly can then you are by far the worst vet clinic in UAE.

Fantastic experience: Dr Pablo was great when he took care of our Golden Retriever puppy during her hospitalisation while I was overseas. We were in communication daily and I was grateful our puppy was in good hands. I feel reassured to know that they are open 24/7. Dr Patrick has seen our pet several times whether for her regular vaccinations or for an illness, and every time is a delight. I highly recommend Modern Vet for their amazing staff, all very friendly and professional.

Negative experience: Critically poor responsiveness on an emergency request for a cat cardiac emergency case from a clinic that claims and advertises ‘ 24/7’ service. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: They took amazing care of my little puppy Miso during a late night emergency. After ingesting something harmful and having a bad reaction they were very prompt in telling us to bring him in immediately. The vet and the nurse were extremely helpful and quick in deciding what steps to take. After an overnight and day stay, Miso was ready to come back home with us. I can’t thank them enough for helping him and taking such good care of him ❤️

Fantastic experience: Professional and they supply a wide range of products and food for my cats that I can’t always get elsewhere. Appointments are on time. Dr Rami in particular has been fantastic with my cats. One in particular had a very rare fungal infection that took months to diagnose and he never gave up, performing a few tricky surgeries and is always available for follow up’s. The staff at reception are very friendly and always ready to help. Thank you!

Negative experience: This should be a NEGATIVE rating!!! I trusted Modern Vet with my cat’s life, and that was my biggest mistake. The treatment we received at both the JVC clinic and the Al Wasl hospital was unacceptable. The bias was obvious. The attitude toward us (Brown clients) compared to European clients was noticeably different — from reception to certain doctors. Same prices, different treatment. The 2 male nurses at JVC were decent, but the shift in tone and respect from others was impossible to ignore. This is supposed to be an emergency hospital. My cat, Flash, was unwell since the morning, yet no doctor properly assessed him until 2 PM. We were told to wait for one specific doctor to arrive. When he finally came, he immediately said Flash needed urgent treatment. So what was happening all morning? Why was no one qualified enough to recognize his condition earlier despite of having around 10 nurses in the room? Why did an “emergency” hospital wait hours to act? We chose an emergency hospital because EMERGENCY means immediate care — at any time, without delay. We went there believing our cat would be monitored, assessed, and treated the moment his condition worsened. Instead, he was ignored for nearly 17 hours while we were told to wait for a specific doctor to arrive at 2 PM as his shift would start then. Additionally, doctor Patrick also informed that they had to give him extra dosage of medicines which his body couldn’t take and he immediately met with a cardiac arrest and passed away. Overdosing a cat rather than actually caring for him earlier, that is not emergency care. That is negligence dressed up as a premium service. If treatment only properly begins when one doctor shows up in the afternoon, then call it a daytime clinic — not a 24/7 emergency hospital. DON’T advertise urgency if you cannot provide it. I paid over 12,000 AED upfront for this experience. And let me be clear — this is not about the money. I would have paid more than double to save my cat. This is about the appalling standard of care, the lack of urgency, the poor communication, and the complete absence of compassion. Charging premium prices while delivering substandard service is unacceptable. And then the worst part — I was informed 20 minutes after my cat had already passed away. That is not a small delay when someone’s family member has just died. To add insult to injury, my cat was wrapped in a black garbage-style plastic bag for cremation. When I asked for other bags, they said the hospital doesn’t have any. He was not trash. The lack of dignity and compassion shown in that moment was devastating. When people come to you, they are scared, vulnerable, and trusting you with their family. Taking advantage of someone’s situation for the money is just unacceptable. We left feeling ignored, discriminated against, and completely failed. If this is what you call emergency care, something is seriously wrong. Flash was not a case file. He was family. And he deserved better than this. His whole life was ended in a span of 50 hours. I URGE ALL PET PARENTS TO THINK A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE TRUSTING ANYONE WITH YOUR PET NOT EVERYONE WILL CARE FOR THEM AS IF THEIR OWN CHILD.

Positive experience: Good doctors in hospital some branches average doctors, 2 doctors t diagnosed my friends dogs wrong saying they would die within a month but they are still alive , very overpriced, at-least some discounts or gifts from time to time for frequent clients.

I wanted an honest and professional opinion, and that’s exactly what I received. Dr. Carla took the time to explain everything clearly and calmly, and I truly felt she was focused on what was best for my dog rather than pushing treatment. This immediately built a lot of trust. She is also a very pleasant and warm person with an amazing personality, and she was wonderful with my dog. Her interaction was gentle and confident, and my dog stayed calm and relaxed throughout the examination, which says a lot. Overall, an excellent experience. Dr. Carla is a truly amazing professional and person. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: As most emergency vet visits go, they are stressful, unplanned and happen late at night. I called Modern Vet's phone number on their website and a representative quickly answered. I explained that my cat was having difficulty breathing and possibly needed fluids extracted from his lungs. The rep on the phone was kind and polite and told me not to hesitate and to bring him in right away, they would be waiting for us. This visit was after hours but they had a full staff ready to greet me and process my cat through. When I arrived, my cat was quickly taken as they explained everything to me; sedation, x--rays, and a possible aspiration (liquid removal from lungs). I was told by the representative on the phone how much the emergency visit was plus other possible costs. These folks are the 'real deal'. They are professional, caring & experts on emergency vet medicine. Dr. Artem was the vet who looked after my cat and explained everything to me in depth, he is a wealth of information and I would definitely ask for him again. Since this is an animal hospital they are 24/7 and can always help no matter what the need or time of day is and here is the kicker...their pricing is less than my 'normal day-time' vet. From the very first contact, it was a relief to find a team that is transparent, diligent, and truly professional. Initially, I specifically looked for a Portuguese doctor, as after losing all trust in the previous clinic, I felt I could only rely on a doctor of my own nationality. After experiencing the level of care, attention, and professionalism at Modern Vet, it became easy to understand why Dr. Joana is part of this team,it is a true symbiosis. It is incredibly reassuring to know that a veterinary hospital like Modern Vet exists in the UAE. While waiting for my kitten to have his X-ray done, I was able to observe and listen from the waiting area next to reception,how the doctors approached pet owners and truly invested their time in explaining every detail with honesty. Negative experience: Crooks! Said my cat was dying and asked for 9400aed. I paid. Then got asked for an additional 8000aed for a feeding tube. I said no. My cat is fine: only had a stuck hairball, where’s my refund?

Negative experience: Called today hoping to get real help for a rescued cat, but all I received was an absurd consultation fee with zero flexibility. The attitude showed that business comes first, and the animal’s suffering comes last. A veterinary clinic should show at least a minimum level of humanity, especially for street animals. Instead, everything felt transactional and cold. This is not how a genuine pet-care establishment should operate.

Negative experience: Worst vet clinic I’ve taken my dog to. They’re an overpriced business that do not care about the well being of your pets. From the very first day when I tried to book an appointment for my dog, I’ve had to deal with their irresponsibility and carelessness. I was recommended to them because the clinic I was at previously couldn’t properly diagnose or treat my dog’s leukemia. When I tried to book an appointment, they told me they’d get back to me soon. It took them hours and when they finally replied I asked them to confirm the booking. Then the next day they told me that booking was already taken and they could give me a booking on another day despite me already confirming the day before. My dog’s situation was critical and I couldn’t waste a single day waiting idly. Then, after numerous visits and sessions of treatments at their clinic, my dog was exhibiting worrying symptoms at home, so I took her there again. They hospitalized her for a day then discharged her the next day seemingly without any concern for the symptoms I described to them. I tried to ask the doctor what procedures were done or treatments she was given to alleviate her symptoms so I could rest assured that she wouldn’t get worse when she got home, but the doctor was dismissive of my concerns. Unfortunately when she got home, she immediately got worse. I tried to get in contact with the doctor that discharged her but they kept ignoring or dismissing me. I only got a reply the next day but it was too late for my dog. I would never recommend to trust your pets’ lives with them.

Negative experience: I have followed up 4 times asking for spaying surgery price for my cat and they never got back to me even though I have a remaining balance with them which they didn’t refund me… please give me back my money

Negative experience: I am so sorry to tell, but they care only for money and how to make you pay more and more! I know theye are expensive, but I used to pay to get a special service in return, but last time I paid like idiot although the check up wasn't done well as my puppy was nervous and the doctor wasn't good enough to diagnose or deal with him, when I asked for a follow-up session with another dr they refused and asked me either to follow up with the same doctor, which is useless, or to pay again for the other doctor although I just paid a few days ago and got nothing in return! Not only expensive, but not all the doctors are professional and 0 customer service!

The team went above and beyond — keeping us updated constantly, even creating a WhatsApp group to share her progress and answer our questions. I had almost lost hope, but Dr. Mostafa assured me that she would recover within a day, and to my amazement, she was walking normally the very next day. My name is sultan and i would like to share more than two year experience with Modern Vet WARNING: This vet will financially exploit you while your pet suffers…… Modern Vet has been treating my dog’s meningitis for two years, and I’ve spent over 30,000 dirhams on overpriced medications and incompetent care. Their pricing is criminal - they charge 375 dirhams for steroids that cost 40 dirhams at any pharmacy, 690 dirhams monthly for phenobarbital, and 130 dirhams for 11 Keppra pills when external pharmacies sell 112+ pills for 140 dirhams. When I discovered these price differences, I realized Modern Vet has been stealing from me for years. They’re frequently out of stock on critical medications, forcing me to buy elsewhere, yet they never adjusted their inflated prices. The quality of care is disgraceful. When I traveled and needed medication delivered for my dog’s life-threatening condition, they delayed delivery arguing over fees while my dog suffered multiple seizures. Every phone call or video I send about symptoms results in demands for 700 dirham emergency visits, even for routine monitoring of his chronic condition. Their vets openly admit they don’t understand his case and resort to “let’s try this, let’s try that” experimental treatments at full emergency pricing. They’re using my sick dog as a learning case while charging me premium rates for their ignorance. Communication is nonexistent. The attending doctor specifically instructed staff to contact her immediately about my dog’s condition regardless of her schedule, but staff consistently ignore these orders claiming she’s unavailable. Management refuses to meet with clients about overcharging or care concerns. After two years and 30,000 dirhams, my dog’s condition hasn’t improved because they lack expertise yet refuse proper referrals. Modern Vet preys on desperate pet owners, exploits sick animals for profit, and provides substandard care. Your pet deserves real veterinary medicine, not expensive experiments. Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience. I gave money to one of the staff (a lady), and instead of giving me change, she told me to go to the supermarket and buy something to get change myself. This is very unprofessional it’s not the customer’s job to solve the business’s lack of change. I hope this issue is taken seriously and handled better in the future.

Went to see Dr Cristina Epifanio, one of the best vets I have met, she is so compassionate, caring patient, knowledgeable and understanding. She will not recommend any unnecessary tests. Negative experience: I had an appointment with Dr. Muhammed Waseem Aslam at Modern Vet Al Wasl Branch at 6 PM for my pet’s scan. While the scan itself was done, the process was left incomplete — I was supposed to receive the scan copies, take-home medications, and discharge instructions right after. Instead, I was made to wait for another hour and a half because Dr. Waseem had already taken in another patient. This was very inefficient and a frustrating waste of time. A consultation should be handled fully from start to finish before moving on to the next case. On a positive note, I truly appreciate the rest of the staff, especially Ibrahim, Ruth, and Jen, who were kind and supportive throughout. However, I believe Dr. Waseem needs to improve his professionalism and time management to ensure clients and their pets are given proper attention without unnecessary delays.

Positive experience: I really like this clinic for my kitties. Dr beatriz was always very accommodating and very sweet with my kitten piki and followed her case for a long time. 5 stars for her. Dr Christina did an amazing job with the spay of tiki, she recovered beautifully and is now a happy kitty. Also 5 stars for her. The call centre team however isn't very good. Time to time they give me different information without checking properly. It would be great if they are more trained and have more information about their doctors and schedules.

Fantastic experience: Heĺlo everybody im a mother of 8 dogs. And i can vouch for Dr luciano hes the best vetenerian ive had so far in Dubai. He performed hip dysplacia for my golden and it was a 10/10. Hes a good vet and very reasonable and actually cares for your pet and doesnt see how much money he can make off you. So dr luciano is my recomadation 100%. I then recomend megan the sweetest and most empathic therapist. My child did hydro with megan and shes absolutly lovely. Fantastic experience: Dr Mustafá is very professional and attentive. He shared all the details as possible to explain me the surgery needed and the best option he’d recommend. Negative experience: I regret so much bringing my cat and treating him in this vet. He was fighting the virus and treatment was awful! In the end bills around 40000 dhs, cat died. Even wasn’t diagnosed properly. Till the last moment doctor was trying to guess and wasn’t giving proper treatment. Even though maybe they suspected that the virus is incurable, they still tortured my cat with iv, hospitalization, blood transfusions, some awkward tests and with the worst stuff treatment ever! I was in so much stress that I couldn’t realize from the beginning what kind of mistakes they’re doing, but now, after so long and after adopting other cat and seeing other doctors treatment I can say assuredly MODERN VET is the worse! Simply business, nothing about pets health

Fantastic experience: Took my kitten to Dr. Moustafa for an FHNE procedure. Dr. Moustafa has seen my kittens since they came into my life and knows their entire history so it was an easy decision to put my trust in him with this intervention as well. Discovering Modern Vet in the process was a total delight. Sushi went through a very smooth process and stayed in the cat ward for 3 nights before returning home and she was in the best hands! Everyone from front office staff, to the Whatsapp coordinators the nurses and other docs who tended to Sushi - Gavrilo, Rowena, Dr. Aysha & Dr. Madina were FABULOUS. We are so grateful for Sushi having an easy stay in the cat ward and coming back to us, well and healed. Thank you to each and every one for all that you are and all that you do!

Fantastic experience: I want to thank everyone at Modern Vet Clinic Al Wasl for taking such good care of our cat Ginger. We brought him in at 3am on a Friday as our normal vet wasn’t open. He was very lethargic, hadn’t been eating, was throwing up and couldn’t use the bathroom. The team took excellent care of him from start to finish. As soon as we dropped him off they started a WhatsApp group and kept us updated with videos and messages multiple times a day. Whenever I had any questions a nurse or doctor would answer the questions I had. I am a very over protective animal mother (I have dogs and cats) and I’m sure I’m not the easiest to deal with. They never made me feel overbearing or annoying, they were always so accommodating. They have clear visiting hours, and when I asked if j could come in to visit him outside of those hours due to my work schedule they accommodated that and let me see him. They are expensive, but the level of care we got for the price matched and they were very transparent with us every step of the way. I couldn’t recommend them enough for emergency cases, he is now home with us and I am forever grateful. A big thank you to Dr. Artem, Dr. Patrick and Dr. Ionut and all of the nurses who helped heal our cat. I would highly recommend this vet hospital if you have an emergency for your pet. Excellent service and care for our animal.

Negative experience: Commercial, money minded vet. Be cautious of their recommendations. Edit: it's not hard to find the referenced record, it's registered under my sister's name (she has the same last name). I took in a stray cat(~1 month old), I brought it in to ur clinic, you recommended it to stay for 2 days (48hrs) and quoted me 2000 DHS. The cat died within 24hrs only, and u charged me close to 2,400 DHS, 400 DHS more than ur quote, after it died within 24 hrs. Screenshots for reference.

Negative experience: My experience with my dog (Quinzo) was deeply disappointing. Their approach is purely profit-driven rather than genuinely caring for animals. They insisted on an MRI, not because it was necessary, but simply to increase the bill. It became clear that their main concern is making money, not providing proper care. This kind of practice is unacceptable, and I am considering filing a complaint with animal rights and consumer rights protection. I would not recommend their services to anyone whom I know and who truly cares about their pet’s well-being.

Negative experience: I picked up Quinzo today after his 48-hour stay at your clinic, during which I received no clear information on what had been done for him, apart from being given a strip of Panadol. When I asked for details, I was told to wait for a report that would take several days and for the neurology specialist to provide feedback the next day. When I got Quinzo back, he looked unwell, and I was deeply uncomfortable taking him home after such a long stay where he was only given IV fluids and Panadol. Concerned, I took him to another veterinary clinic nearby. The vet there conducted a full examination, including checking his ears—something I had repeatedly requested from your team—his eyes, and his overall condition. He found swelling under his left ear, prescribed appropriate treatment, and advised delaying sedation for five days to allow the inflammation to subside. Additionally, I was informed that Panadol is not suitable for a dog of Quinzo’s age, and I was given a safer alternative specifically designed for Labradors. Most concerningly, the vet explained that at Quinzo’s age, the last thing that should be considered is placing him under general anesthesia for an MRI or CT scan due to the significant risks involved. Yet, from day one, your team insisted that these scans were necessary. Just because you have access to these machines at another facility does not justify exposing a large-breed dog to life-threatening risks simply to generate revenue. My experience with your clinic has been extremely disappointing. The service felt purely transactional, with little regard for Quinzo’s well-being. I received no proper feedback, no clear instructions on how to care for him, and even today, the attending vet chose to walk away rather than address my concerns. A clinic that claims to prioritize animal welfare should demonstrate more professionalism, care, and ethical responsibility. Unfortunately, I found none of that in my experience with you. Fantastic experience: It was my first time going to Modern Vet hospital and I am glad I did. My cat was not feeling well and I had to go at 11 pm, I am grateful they were open. Dr. Artem was very good with my cat and so were the assistants. They did all they can to figure out the problem. I followed all their recommendations and my cat is better now. Negative experience: This is money making facility with no ethical communication with the customers. I admitted my dog based on their advice and they gave me an estimate/quote for a 3 day hospitalization. They said they would refund the difference at the end if the dog is released early. I indicated in writing to them not to do anything extra without my written approval. My dog was released in less than 24 hours. I am not sure if hospitalization was needed in the first place. they ended up charging me 75% of the estimate versus what should have been 33%. I inquired about the reason and gave me unsubstantiated reasons and refused to communicate further if you have to deal with Dr. Pablo be careful.

Fantastic experience: Team is very attentive and they love pets. My little thing is still in the clinic after surgery and i am getting updates twice a day which is very revealing. Doctor Roy and Doctor Pablo both done great job with my cat surgery.

We started with our boy Simba who sadly had to PTS but the compassion shown by the Drs and the staff really touched our hearts. .My other dog figaro has the first stage of heart murmur so came to show Dr Waseem who is a cardiologist.
